  • Eggs: 2 large

  • Chopped Nuts (almonds or walnuts): 1/2 cup
  • Chopped Candied Orange Peel or Raisins: 1/3 cup
  • Milk (for glaze): 2 tablespoons
  • Powdered Sugar (for glaze): 1 cup
  • Almond Extract (optional): 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and spices. In another, combine brown sugar, honey, butter, and eggs.
  3. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir in nuts and fruit.
  4. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While warm, whisk glaze ingredients and brush over the top. Cool completely.
  7. Slice into squares and serve or store for gifting later.
