  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 burger buns (sesame or brioche)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for toasting buns)
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 810 pickle slices
  • 4 red onion rings (optional)
  • Ketchup and mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Form ground beef into 4 patties, adding a thumbprint in the center. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Place patties on the grill and cook 3–4 minutes per side. Add cheese slices in final minute and cover to melt.
  4. Butter buns and toast on grill until golden. Add lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion to the bottom bun.
  5. Ensure patties reach 160°F internal temp. Let rest 2 minutes after grilling.
  6. Place cheesy patty on top of toppings. Add desired sauces.
